great movie!!!!

This movie was amazing, it shines a light on a reality that is still going on at this moment. People take advantage of the weaker, specially women. Please watch this movie in support of this women that suffer everyday the injustice that happens within their own family and country.

An outstanding movie. I was lown away. The trailer alone brings me to tears. A definite must see. Dont miss this for the world.

I almost skipped this movie fearing it to be anti-Islam propaganda or an exploitive film of some sort. It is neither. It is a sensitively told story of ancient belief and corruption in a remote village in Iran. It is perpetrated via the abusive Shria interpretation of the Quran by politically suspect "officials" and their frenzied mob. One cannot watch this story unfold and not feel his own experience of unreason promulgated by mobs of temporarily insane citizens demanding "their rights, God's vengeance,..." all the while being manipulated. Soraya stands for all who have been sacrificed at the altar of power and lust in the name of "morality" and what passes at the time for law. The acting is sublime, the sound, the music, the scenery/cinematography and the costumes.... all exemplary. The acting is so expressive that I quit reading the subtitles half way into the film. This movie will stay with you for days; you will savor its ultimately uplifting message over and over. Don't miss it!
